Jason Hildebrand, Actor (Andrew)
Part story-teller, part creative catalyst, Jason works extensively as an actor, producer, filmmaker and communication coach. For the past 15 years, he has partnered with theatre and film companies, organizations and educational institutions as an artist/coach around the world. He is most recognized for his acclaimed solo performances: Blue Like Jazz // Live (based on Donald Miller’s New York Times best-selling book), The Prodigal Trilogy, Life of David, and Kingdom of Herod. Along with touring his solo repertoire, Jason is currently acting in this production of Fish Eyes, which is produced under the umbrella of the newly formed Canadian national theatre company The Arts Engine. Jason has developed and produced two films: the multi-award winning film The Prodigal Trilogy and a cinematic adaptation of his multimedia solo performance, Blue Like Jazz // Live. Projects on the go include: a live performance with jazz pianist Mike Janzen drawn out of author Greg Paul’s highly anticipated new book, Close Enough to Hear God Breathe, writing a book based on his own journey of developing the The Prodigal Trilogy from theatre to film, and pre-production for a new film based on his Kingdom of Herod. Don Tjart, Actor (Peter)
Don is a professional actor who has been involved in numerous national and international television commercial campaigns as well as many independent film and television projects. Don recently received the coveted Kari Award for Best of Series Performance at the 2010 Bessie Awards. Don has also been heavily involved in the theatrical and musical ministries of The Peoples Church in Toronto. Prior to working as an actor, Don was a Worship Pastor for 15 years. Don currently gives lay leadership to the worship arts ministries of the urban Toronto church that he and his family now attend. Don is also involved in commercial and film production work behind the camera. He has a unique combination of creative and management skills that he has put to work alongside Jason Hildebrand’s recent award-winning film work.
Tom Carson, Director
Tom’s directorial work has appeared on stages from Montreal to Vancouver, winning the hearts of audiences and garnering critical acclaim throughout the country. Tom’s direction has brought to life a wide range of productions for both adults and children, and his work has been nominated for a number of awards. Tom has directed numerous memorable productions such as 2000 Candles for the 2000 Candles Collective, Life of David, Job Alive and Blue Like Jazz // Live for Jason Hildebrand and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Big Picture, and Shell Game for Brookstone Performing Arts. For five years, Tom held the position of General and Artistic Manager of Smile Theatre in Toronto. Tom lives in Milton, Ontario with his wife and children and runs Carson Academy (www.carsonacademy.ca).
